Idolatory

The final six male contestants for the popular prime time television show Australian Idol should alert us to the dangerous confusing our culture has plummeted into. This saddens me.

Is it not our job as residents of this Earth to inform, educate, enlighten and invigorate our fellow Homo sapiens with knowledge that is beneficial, in this life and the Hereafter?

Is it fair to keep stupidity under wraps by dolling it up and allowing it to masquerade as achievement? Have we learnt nothing from our past and really what kind of future do we want to shape for our children?

I say put an end to exhibitionism. Down with reality TV. Let’s stop the melting ice caps and start melting those Hungry Jacks calorie.

Get off the couch. Invest in a good book. Entertain people with your thirst for knowledge.

Develop patience, sabr. Be calm. Stay silent.

Call your friends, don’t just forward emails.

If it were up to me I’d only commission stations like Discovery that were dedicated to the various religions and philosophies in the World.

Expand your mind. Learn a trade. Feed a family. Make an honest living. Be greatful to the Life that sustains you.

Be humble. Be productive. Challenge. Inform. Educate.

Be well.

You know I always thought I would have some kind of magic to weave in this category, but alas, I have none. Leave a comment for me and perhaps that way you can get to know me a little better.

How I wish this world could be filled, atleast half, by people like you who seem to understand the importance of, generally speaking, good.

It is indeed our job, but many don’t do this because they fear of what might befall them if they are heard educating, enlightening and invigoraring the fellow homo sapiens with knowledge that is bneneficial. For many who deem certain knowledge to be beneficial, others seem to think it as a total waste of breath and thus deny to lend an ear. How silly.
