Maryam’s Keenly Observed Facts of Life (Part 45)

You know when people say, “I’ve never told anyone that” and you feel all privileged for being privy to such information?

Well here’s something to think about. Maybe they never told anyone, cause no one ever asked…

  1. Interesting observation… but then, if it comes to asking, its not premeditated is it? I mean, you didn’t want to ask anything; but due to the flow of conversation, the person suddenly has an urge to unveil his/her secret because they think it might be appropriate… nah? You don’t necessarily have to ask.

  2. OR! Maybe, because they just lied to you and had actually told someone else about it.

I am sorry but my answer is tained by my low self esteem as of tonight! πŸ™‚

  3. Dang, I’m gonna have to quit being nice and asking…I run into well over my fair share of that. All this time, I thought people just intuitively trusted me, duh?!?!?

  4. i think when someone claims that, they are (as often as not) trying to impress another person for aome reason or the other. i happen to know a few serial “i’ve never told this to anyone before” types.

they belong mainly to the hyper-chondriac [sic] rubbernecker species

  5. hello all the newbies! stay won’t you πŸ™‚

haleem: you must not be a very wise man then

    snowdrops: yes, its very possible

sumera: ever the cynic, love your style πŸ™‚

    jalal: agreed

lifebylisa: i thought that too until what Jalal and kinkimos said rang true

    kinkminos: *chuckles* + agreed

khawab: that’s also true (its all true today folks!)

hera*: if my rantings put a smile on your dial, then, my dear, I ask not for much else πŸ™‚

  6. A secret that someone desperately wants to tell you is that person’s way of telling you it shouldn’t remain a secret anymore, in not as many words.
